It took me a few hours to get back to all of my other devices working.

After i plugged in a ethernet cable in the NAS's Port 2 - it displayed a 10.0.X.X address (and that remained after I unplugged it) I received some clarification on the two LAN ports : Synology will display whatever the last working IP was on that specific adapter port. The Orbi's internet port / IP is in the .X addresses because that's the only connection to the AT&T modem/router? All of the devices connected to it have the 10.0.x.x IP addresses (and all are working fine - including this desktop).

Here's my feeble attempt at explaining it - I have the Orbi setup in a full router mode (vs AP). I might be confused too =) But that's how it previously worked. Also not sure where you're seeing the two IP's for the LAN ports. >I guess I'm confused by how the NAS is on 10.x yet the Orbi's LAN address shows 192.168.0.x.

Maybe something funky with the Ethernet ports? However the desktop's Windows networking is still working (ie I can still access files on my laptop etc)Įdit : Ohhh one thing to add. One of the only other things that I can think of is all of these other devices are wireless ASIDE from NAS and Desktop. Should/could that Orbi IP be an address ala .X (which is what is displayed for the BGW210-700 modem? The Orbi's IP address is 192.168.0.X - which I believe checks out / makes sense as it's in pass-through. The NAS's IP address is displayed w/ the address format 10.0.0.X. I just did a fully shut down (vs just a restart) and no luck there. However worth a note, that every other device such as smart speakers, TV, security system, phones all have connected successfully. There is some sort of irony, where as my NAS which primarily serves as a backup, did not have it's router settings backed up *sigh* I was lucky to get that (and Orbi is now back up and running albeit w/o my old settings). Indeed a CLUSTER! One good / great thing about that thread on the Orbi community thread - they had someone individually reaching out to users to send updated firmware one router at a time. Seems like I am missing some network setting in the BGW modem or the orbi admin pages - but I can't seem to find it.Ĭould I have fallen victim to often mentioned "Double-NAT" which I only have a slight grasp - seems like you may know or thing or five about Synology and At&T. Some of the installed packages on NAS which require a third party program running on the same network (such Plex, Roon etc) are also not working. Just can not connect to it locally or using the "Assistant". In the Orbi router admin page, I can see the NAS device connected and I can connect via remote login / web browser (via find.synology,com and QuickConnect.to).
The NAS is currently connected via Ethernet to my primary Orbi router. Now, I am unable to see or connect my NAS locally. I had to perform a full reset to my router losing the previous network settings. Unfortunately Netgear released some bad firmware which has caused a bit of chaos for several Orbi users this weekend. Over the years I made some changes here and there but it's always been able to connect to it. I have had a Synology NAS hooked up to my Orbi mesh network which was "passing through" to my BGW210-700.
